My tip for the day as my friend Esther pointed out is join a CSA and get your local non-hormone, grass-fed beef. I got a cheap freezer delivered from Home Depot. We are splitting a cow 385 lbs three ways at 2 bucks a pound. Although organically raised, not certified as such due to the expense, but local grass fed, packaged and cut. Can't wait! Our beef was a 4H project - I know, I know.
But I've heard good things about Kookoolan Farms if you are looking to check it out.

Excellent! Glad I was able to help ;). Plus the beef is prepackaged and lasts a really long time, provided that you don't have a really long power outage that causes your freezer to defrost. We still have lots of beef in our freezer from when we bought 1/4 of a cow last year in November.
ReplyDeleteE- What farm did you get your's from?
